THIEVES broke into a locked garage in Pickering and snatched a woman's mountain bike, sometime between Sunday 17 and Thursday September 21. The silver Avalanche II model was taken from a house on Town End Close and is worth £369.


VANDALS targeted Malton Town Hall in the early hours of Sunday when a small window was smashed at the side of the historic building. Police want anyone with information about the incident to contact them at Malton station.


MEN thought to have been staying at Flamingo Land Caravan Park have smashed a pub window in Malton. At about 10pm on Saturday a group of five men left the Gate Inn and smashed a ground floor toilet window. One of them is described as white, in his late 20s, of average build and wearing green and cream striped top and a Flamingo Land wristband.


A CAR was damaged parked in a street in Ampleforth. The green Ford Fiesta was on Valley View overnight on Friday when its rear windscreen wiper was ripped off.


ELECTRICAL equipment worth hundreds of pounds was stolen from a van parked overnight in Helmsley. The white Ford Escort van was parked on a private drive in Station Road on Friday when thieves carefully cut round the back window to remove the glass. They took a blue Bosch hammer drill worth £450 and a red and blue Milwaukee power drill worth £250.


AN EMPTY bungalow was broken into in Helmsley on Saturday night for the second time in two weeks.Thieves had forced their way into the property on Ashdale Road through the garage and left by smashing through boarded-up patio doors. Nothing was taken from the house.


A THIEF stole £900 worth of tools after forcing the lock of a garage in Bulmer between 5pm last Tuesday and 7.30am last Wednesday. A green Stihl saw and a yellow wacker plate were taken.


A NOKIA 6233 mobile phone worth £300 was stolen at the Railway Tavern on Wold Street, Norton, between 8pm and 8.15pm last Tuesday.
