MINDLESS vandals have struck again in Malton Market Place this time smashing a window at the museum.

Two weeks ago, we reported how a suspected arson attack had seen the public toilets behind Malton Museum set alight.

The Gazette & Herald has launched a campaign to Stamp Out anti-social behaviour and we need your help.

Anyone with information about this or any other crime should call police on 08456060247.

The single-pane window was smashed between 4pm last Tuesday and 9.15am last Wednesday.

Curator Frank Wiggle said: "We've had broken windows but none until now this year. There seems to be so many incidents at the moment, it's just mindless vandalism."

Police are examining CCTV footage in connection with the crime.

Meanwhile, thugs have smashed a public phone box in Swinton and pulled hanging baskets from the village's bowling club.

Matt Fenwick, chairman of Swinton Parish Council, said: "It's disgusting. This is the second time in a year that the phone kiosk has been trashed. It's just wanton vandalsim."

PC Rich Houghton of Malton police said: "We would like anyone who saw the incident or who has any information about it to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
