GRADE One hair and beauty salon in Malton held a charity open day for Louby’s Lifeline.

Entertainment was provided by local comic Ryan Swain, along with a tombola.

Owner Jessica Lingwood said she and her staff had dressed in fancy dress for the day.

“We had lots of lovely support from the people of Ryedale, including Louby’s mum Emma and Ryan,” she said.

“We raised £225 for the charity, from the tombola with loads of lovely gifts donated by local businesses and also vet Mark Collins, from Minster Equine, who took part in the tombola and donated all of his prizes back to be auctioned off to raise more money for the charity.”

The brain tumour charity Louby’s Lifeline was set up by local girl Laura Robertson-Tierney, ‘Louby’, who died of the condition last February.
