OVER the next two weekends Malton is set to revive the Dickens Festival with a series of events linked to the famous author.

The event was first held nearly in the late 1980s, attracting hundreds of visitors to the town.

Malton was taken back to Victorian times with shopkeepers dressing in period costume and events taking place to commemorate the links with Charles Dickens over five days just before Christmas.

Here we have a selection of photos from Dickens Festival over 30 years ago.
