AT the annual general meeting of the Norton and District Boy Scout Local Association, it was revealed that the recent Bob-a-Job Week had been the most successful on record, a total of £55 being raised by the two Norton Groups of scouts and cubs.

Norton Urban District Council decided on Monday evening to support a suggestion that Old Maltongate should be signposted as an alternative route to Scarborough. A letter to this effect is to be sent to the clerk to the North Riding County Council, to the two local members of parliament and to Malton Urban Council.
