FOR this month’s feature, Kirkbymoorside Camera Club has focused on sport.

A club spokesman said: “Capturing sporting images can be particularly difficult. You need to be able to follow, frame and capture the moment in a fraction of a second, using your abilities and the functions of the camera, fast or slow motion, while keeping the main subject sharp.”

The club meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Moorside Bar and Club, Shaw Drive, Kirkbymoorside, at 7.30pm.

New members of all standards welcome. For details, go to kirkbymoorside-camera-club.co.uk or follow them on Facebook.

Harry Kingman - Jet Ski Racer

Jet ski racing is thrilling, fast and furious and every so noise. This event took place just off the South Beach in Scarborough.

Liz Bassindale - Lift Off

Our annual visit to the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup in Fort William offers many opportunities to photograph the riders as they speed down the 2.8km course descending Aonach Mor (ninth highest mountain in the UK).

Harry Kingman - OMG

White water canoe slalom at Howsham Mill, this event was open to canoeists of all ages and experience. The shoot over the weir looks ever so daunting.

Lynn Wraith - Splash

On a drizzly day on Vancouver Island there were a group of youngsters practicing their surfing. The surf was good and so too were the surfers, with only the occasional spectacular splash.

Colin Dilcock - Triathlon 2017

This image was taken on the running stage at the Castle Howard Triathlon in 2017.

Barry Tuck - Team Mates

This action close up was taken at last year’s Tour de Yorkshire as they climbed out of Pickering and shows two team mates tightly followed by the rest of a whole pack of riders.
