THIS month’s feature from Malton Camera Club offers eight images from club chairman Martin Hogarth.

"My hobby is photography, I can’t think of any other hobby that’s so peaceful. Here are a variety of images I’ve taken over the last year. Most of my images where taken with a Nikon D300s and I used Photoshop to get the best out of the images," he said.

l Blackrock to Buachaille: this image of the famous cottage in Glencoe Oct 2014 after a long wait finally the clouds broke through to let this image show, Nikon D300s F:20 1/50 Sec.

l Castle Howard: Harvest time at Castle Howard. I used an artistic filter to make this look different from the rest. Nikon D60 F:20 1/20 Sec.

l Deer in field: This image was taken on a very wet day in the Scottish highlands last October down Glen Etive. Nikon D300s. F:20 1/20 Sec. ISO 400.

l Evening light: Beech huts at Whitby. During this day visit to the seaside resort of Whitby, I liked how the people were silhouetted against the moody sky. Nikon D300s F:16. 1/50 Sec.

l Late evening on Whitby pier: After fish and chips and a walk down the pier, I saw this lovely light coming from a strong sunset. The two people on the pier just add a lovely touch to the photograph. F:20. ISO 200. 1/100 Sec.

l Thixendale: Sunday walk on the Wolds, looking down the valley near Thixendale with the light and shadows making the valley stand out. F:16. ISO160. 1/20 Sec.

l Wharram Percy: A hot day on the Wolds and I took a long walk down to Wharram Percy, deserted village. Good reflections on Wharram pond made the church in the background show through strongly. D300s. F:16. 35mm. 1/160 Sec

l Buttermere: Windy day on the shore of Buttermere in the Lake District. Light just catching the reeds to illuminate the foreground. F:22. O.60 Sec. 18mm
