THIS week’s photographs are from the Woodhams Stone collection, which is currently based in Malton’s Subscription Rooms, in Yorkersgate, Malton.
The photos were taken by Sid Woodhams in the mid-1960s.
This view in Old Malton shows Town Street buildings with St Mary’s Priory Church in the background. The lorry is carrying milk churns is possibly that of Cook & Sons, who picked up the milk from the farms and took it to the dairies. They also delivered the empty churns back to the farms and some can be seen to be upside down on the back of the truck.
The Royal Oak public house is visible on this photo.
