THIS month’s feature from Malton Camera Club offers eight images, capturing wildlife from around the country.

They were taken by Tony Malt, whose main interest is wildlife, using a a Sony A77 DSLR with Sony 70-400mm lens, except for the damselflies where a 90mm macro lens was used. “My first attempts at photography were by ‘digiscoping’, which is by means of attaching a compact camera to a spotting scope,” he said.

“I found this method pretty hit and miss, and since retiring I purchased a digital camera with a telephoto lens.

“I also joined Malton Camera Club which I have found most helpful. The club is quite small and friendly and I have received advice from members about equipment choice, photo editing software, and feedback on internal competitions, which, hopefully, have all helped to improve my skills over the last 18 months.”
