A WELL-KNOWN Ryedale resident, Venetia Wrigley, of Ganton, has been appointed deputy lieutenant for North Yorkshire.
Ms Wrigley runs the Ganton Estate and works for the Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners’ Trust, Opera North, Elizabeth Finn Care, St Nicholas’s Church, Ganton and the Middleton Hunt. She also fund raises for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Other new deputy lieutenants in the county are Barry Dodd, chairman of York and North Yorkshire and East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership, and pro-chancellor and chairman of Council of the University of Hull; Thirsk livestock farmer Chris Blundell, Bill Cowling, director of the Great Yorkshire Show, Rosalind Forbes Adam, founder and chairman of Hagge Woods Trust, and Brigadier David Maddan, of Leyburn, former commander at Imphal Barracks, York
