A LOVE of reading by has raised over £415.50 for three children's charities.
Pupils at Leavening Primary School took part in the Readathon Challenge which is designed to encourage an enjoyment of reading to raise the funds for - Readwell, CLIC Sargent and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.
They were also asked to bring in photos of themselves reading in unusual places - which ranged from in the shower to sat on the roof of a house!.
Teacher Clare Ambrose, who organised the event, said: "I am delighted that the children read so eagerly for such a good cause.
"Reading for enjoyment is so important and we are constantly trying to think of new ways to motivate our children to read more frequently. I am very proud of the time and effort all our children put into this challenge".
