A FARM-based business in Thixendale has bolstered its marketing department with the appointment of an additional staff member.

The new position of marketing support at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil sees Marcelle Tisserant take on a part-time role at the artisan producer as she assists marketing manager, Jennie Palmer.

Mum-of-two Marcelle joined from a York-based training company and will work on the company blog, newsletters and social media, in addition to visiting customers and representing the company at farmers’ markets throughout Yorkshire.

Jennie, who founded the business with husband Adam in 2008, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Marcelle to the team at Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil as she brings with her a passion for all things food related and a wealth of commercial experience and knowledge.”

Marcelle said: “After working alongside national and international brands over the past decade, it’s a refreshing change and a great opportunity to join a local business that’s so well established.”

The company is celebrating its 10th anniversary year as it marks a decade since Jennie and Adam attended their first farmers’ market at Murton in January 2008.

Since its establishment, the company has been characterised by strong growth and an expanding, award-winning product range made from a base of the cold-pressed extra virgin rapeseed oil that is grown on the farm.
