A THIXENDALE farmer has been nominated for Yorkshire Businessman of the Year.

Adam Palmer, who founded Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil, is in the running for the accolade at the inaugural Yorkshire Choice Awards.

The Businessman of the Year category of the Yorkshire Choice Awards recognises local people and independent businesses that are an inspiration in their field.

Mr Palmer said: "The calibre of contestants is very high, but hopefully my customers, friends and family will all vote for me."

Mr Palmer will find out whether he has reached the final at an awards ceremony on April 2 at the Centenary Pavilions, Leeds Utd.
