The Game and Wildife Conservation Trust will hold a special shoot management day at Ripley Castle, North Yorkshire, on Saturday, May 9.
The Shooting for the Future: Shoot Management day will demonstrate how to maximise broader conservation benefit while minimising any damage caused by the birds themselves.
Drawing on the latest trust guidelines, the course will help shoots to maintain the health and welfare of their birds, ensuring good returns and high quality sport.
These issues will be addressed during the morning presentations, followed by an afternoon visit to a working shoot, to see hands-on how to put the guidelines into practice.
Trust advisor Austin Weldon said: “The course is based on the most up-to-date trust research.
“Anyone who signs up can expect a rewarding and stimulating experience that will benefit their shoots, their birds and their wildlife.”
The one-day course costs £100 per person (or £65 for trust or BASC members).
All fees include the cost of lunch and refreshments. To book a place, or for further information, phone Lynda Ferguson on 01425 651013 or email at lferguson@gwct.org.uk
