RILLINGTON Young Farmers are celebrating raising £1,000 for two charities.

The group held a charity auction to raise money for both the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Marie Curie Cancer Care and said that they were thrilled to have raised such a large amount for each charity.

Ginette Sixsmith of the group said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all of the businesses that donated items and vouchers for the auction and to everyone who helped on the evening.

“We would also like to thank the recreation club for having us, to Philip Place our auctioneer and to everyone who attended and gave generously.”

The group is now preparing for their ploughing match event on Sunday, February 15 at Sherburn. The event will start at 9am and for more information phone James Taylor on 07746751802.
