TRIBUTES have been made to a well-known Ryedale farmer.
Richard Morley, 62, of Westfields Farm, Thornton-le-Dale, died at his home last Monday.
Mr Morley was a former master of Derwent Hunt and a supporter for many years.
Secretary Julie Snowden said it was tragic news.
“It was a great shock to us all,” she said.
“Richard was a lovely man, very kind, very thoughtful and a caring family man.
“He had a lot of experience of horses, hounds and hunting and was well known in the hunting community throughout the country.”
An inquest into Mr Morley’s death has been opened and adjourned by North Yorkshire East Coroner, Michael Oakley.
Police said that there were no suspicious circumstances.
