Thornton-le-Dale show  goers enjoyed an excellent day with record entries in all classes.

Show chairman Martin Blythe said the standards across all sections had been very high, particularly in the sheep and fur and feather classes.

"The number of entries was absolutely excellent and next year we may be forced to limit the number of sheep entries due to the space available," he said.

"The goat section was the best at any show in Ryedale and the tent produce was really impressive."

Martin said the feedback on the day's entertainment had been very positive, with displays in the main ring including The Devil's Horsemen, Jamie Squibb and fire stunts by Joseph Peace.
