Dairy firm’s product launch creates new jobs

FIVE jobs have been created by a North Yorkshire dairy business which has obtained funds to launch a new product range.

The Dairy Kompany, based in Harrogate, which sources and supplies dairy products and bottled water to more than 70 food service companies throughout the UK, is launching a new product range which includes butter, cheese and dairy powders.

Brendan Scanlon, director, who set up the business with Louise Hewson a year ago, said he expected the company to increase its market share in 2012.

Andy Hay, business partner for Yorkshire Bank, which funded the company, said: ”Experience and knowledge are crucial in the food industry and we’re pleased to support a forward–thinking, niche enterprise such as The Dairy Kompany which is set to grow through its highly-commercial, added-value approach to business.”
