FORMER undefeated British, Commonwealth and European super-middleweight boxing champion Henry Wharton will be packing a punch at a fundraising event in Ampleforth on Sunday.
Henry, who is due to launch his new Eastside Boxing Club and fitness centre in the former Regent Cinema in Acomb this spring, will put in a guest appearance at Carr House Farm’s charity farmhouse brunch in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
The sell-out event has been organised by Anna Lupton, who runs the award-winning bed and breakfast accommodation in the North York Moors National Park.
Henry will draw the raffle at the fundraiser, where brunchers will also have the opportunity to bid for lots in an auction of promises.
Many local and regional businesses have come forward to sponsor the event, donate food and drink products for the meal, and offer prizes for the charity auction.
“It’s all set to be a knockout day, made possible by the generosity of a whole host of supporters.
We have some spectacular prizes in the auction, and the help of family and friends,” said Anna.
