FARMERS have been urged to remain vigilant after reports of a team of livestock thieves working in the area.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “It is believed a team of offenders is currently operating, looking to steal livestock, especially sheep.
“It is possible that they are using white Arnold Clark rental vans to transport the animals and that they are especially interested in lambing ewes.”
Anyone who sees a similar vehicle near farms or rural locations to contact them on the new, non-emergency number 101.
