THE Singing Farmers are returning for their ninth annual tour.
Established in 2004, the group has been entertaining the rural community and raising thousands of pounds for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
Chris Berry, who came up with the idea of the Singing Farmers, said they did not know just how popular the concerts were to become.
He said: “We now sell more than 1,000 tickets every year. All the singers bring something different and our styles complement each other.”
The concerts include a wide repertoire of styles including country music, Geordie folk songs, easy listening pop tunes and songs from the shows.
The groups Singing Farmers troupe is made up of Phillip Holden, of Spennithorne, Charles Marwood and Lloyd Lockwood, of Sheriff Hutton, Tony Richards, of Glaisdale, Ken Jackson, of Pontefract and Chris himself.
The Singing Farmers will perform at Kirkbymoorside Memorial Hall on Sunday, March 25.
Tickets cost £12 and cheques, made payable to RABI, should be sent with a stamped addressed envelope to Singing Farmers Tickets, 2 Elmete Croft, Scholes,
