Hunt is on for most beautiful farm in UK

British farmers are out to win the hearts of countryside lovers with a nationwide hunt to find the UK’s most beautiful farm.

A panel combining celebrity judges and farming experts will start the search this month – but it’s not all about lovely views and picture-postcard farmyards.

“Farming is a serious business and we’re looking at their business models and profitability as well,” said celebrity chef James Martin, one of the judges.

The Beautiful Farm Awards are run by Farm Business magazine in conjunction with New Holland and are entering their fifth year – previous winners have come from right across the UK including Northumberland, Devon and Leicestershire.

Those wishing to enter the awards can obtain an entry form by contacting the organisers on 01892 861 664 or by emailing awards@ghpublishing.co.uk. Entry is free and open to farms of all sizes. The winning farm will be announced at the awards ceremony at the House of Lords on November 19, and the winners will receive a trip to Italy. The deadline for entries is October 9.
