Easter eclipse by Starlight

THE competition season is really getting into gear at Irton Riding Centre with the unaffiliated showjumping attracting a good turnout on Sunday.

The horse section was particularly wellcontested with 17 going forward for the 75cm and 22 riders battling it out for the 85cm title.

Di Feaster, from Hamley Hagg, emerged victorious in the 75cm riding the surefooted skewbald gelding, Easter. From then on it was Pat Anderson and Starlight who ruled the day, proving unbeatable in the remaining classes.

The results were as follows:

Horse 75cm: 1 Di Feaster & Easter, 2 Keri Owen & Scarlet, 3 Tina Williams & Venn

Horse 85cm: 1 Pat Anderson & Starlight, 2 Victoria Robson & Snow Patrol, 3 Jen Foster & Merlin

Horse 95cm: 1 Pat Anderson & Starlight, 2 Victoria Lockey & Lavenco, 3 Toyah Walker & Supersonic

Horse 105cm: 1 Pat Anderson & Starlight

10 years & under: 1 Tim McCarthy & Dillon, 2 William McCarthy & Smartie, 3 Chloe Topham & Tiny

Pony 75cm: 1 William McCarthy & Smartie, 2 Emily Exley & Halo, 3 William McCarthy & Dillon
