Bishop Burton College backs Bramham trials

BISHOP Burton recently announced the signing of a threeyear sponsorship deal with the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials which will see the land-based college continue its support of the prestigious Under 25s competition.

Bishop Burton has supported the CCI*** U25 at Bramham for the past eight years.

The competition, which is one of the highlights of the UK’s eventing calendar, has been running for almost 40 years and attracts some of the world’s top riders, including William Fox-Pitt, Tina Cook, Oliver Townend, Nicola Wilson, Lucinda Fredericks and Mark Todd.

The Under 25s competition also draws entries from some of the UK’s most talented riders. Last year the results card included Emily Llewellyn, Laura Collett, Ben Hobday and Georgie Spence – all riders who have made appearances on Pony, Junior and Young Rider Teams.

“It’s fantastic to be a part of what is such a fabulous event and to be able to support younger riders is even more gratifying,” said Bishop Burton College principal Jeanette Dawson, who is delighted with the new deal.

“Bramham International Horse Trials are such a huge feature of the UK eventing calendar and are also tremendously important as a ‘Yorkshire’ event, highlighting the county as a sporting venue and attracting visitors to enjoy the fantastic hospitality.”

Event director Nick Pritchard said: “I am delighted that Bishop Burton College has decided to continue sponsoring the U25 class; it is such an important class for our younger competitors and we are really pleased that it remains so popular. Without the support of Bishop Burton College we would not be able to put this class on.”
