IT was two on the trot for Kate Musgrave at Malton Riding Club’s unaffiliated showjumping competition at Manor Farm, Thornthorpe, on Sunday.

She started the day off with a double in the beginners class, riding Bobby and Archie to victory in the pony and horse sections respectively.

George Brown gave a creditable performance on Lot 13 that took the top prize in the novice pony class, while mum Alison Brown claimed the top spot in the intermediate horse class, riding Comet. It was during the intermediate section that the heavens opened, but the determined riders braved the heavy downpour.

Father and son, Willie and Cameron Hardie were also in the ribbons. Willie took first place in the novice horse section riding Angel, while Cameron went on to give an unbeatable performance in the large open class with handsome palomino pony Oscar.
