Ebor Vale rider Sophie Blades celebrates a double

SOPHIE Blades celebrated a memorable double at the BRC Area 4 Horse Trials after taking individual first place in both the junior novice and intermediate sections.

Sophie, representing Ebor Vale Riding Club, provided a flawless performance on both of her rides, Peewit and Popcorn, to earn two well-deserved victories.

Ebor Vale Riding Club took one senior novice team and four individual competitors to the competition held at Bishop Burton College.

Junior member Louise Gillet gave a creditable performance to take individual fourth place in the novice, while Harriet Morris-Baumber had a great ride to take second place in the senior open section.

The senior novice team consisted of Rachael Newton, Lisa Kirby and Kate Startin, all performed well but remained unplaced.

The next Ebor Vale event will be dressage competition held at the new club field, The Oaks, Hayton Lane, Everingham, on Saturday.
