Following his fantastic double clear round for North Ryedale riding club at the British Riding Clubs Novice Indoor Show Jumping Championships held at Hartpury College, William Easterby is in the frame once again.
William, aged 13, travelled to the Braes of Derwent point-to-point meet held on Sunday, April 20 at Corbridge, Northumberland, in order to compete in the pony races at the end of the day. Together with his pony Merlin II, William clinched a fantastic victory in the 138cm pony race. This was just the second time out for this pair. After finding nothing locally, William and Merlin had previously travelled to Morpeth in order to learn more of what pony racing is all about.
"We would love for some of the Yorkshire tracks to add pony races to their schedules," said William's mum, Sarah Easterby.
The Pony Club has organised a race day taking place on Wednesday, May 28 at Howe Hills, Mordon, Sedgefield, Co Durham. For further details please go to www.pcuk.org
