PUPILS from Ryedale School "performed brilliantly" in the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) show jumping competition at Northallerton Equestrian Centre on Sunday, May 14.

Both the Class 75cm and Class 85cm teams from the school placed first, and therefore qualified for National Championships at Addington Manor in October.

The Class 75cm team consisted of William Brown riding Amy Rose (who also got individual third place), William McCarthy riding Rainbow, Erin Smith riding Silver, and Olivia Clough riding Drumcrave Tom and Amy Hayhurst riding Nigel as an individual were placed second.

The Class 85cm team were William Brown riding Amy Rose (who also go individual first place), William McCarthy riding Rainbow (who also individual sixth place), Erin Smith riding Callista and Olivia Clough riding Drumcrave Tom.

In the Class 95cm show jumping, Erin Smith riding Callista and Pippa Jean Brown riding Forest Son represented Ryedale as individuals. Both had one pole down so no placings but rode well.

In the Class 105cm show jumping, Pippa Jean Brown riding Forest Son was the school's only competitor in this height class, and did a clear round to finish individual fifth.

A spokesperson for the school said: "All our members represented Ryedale School brilliantly, they are a pleasure to take out and are a credit to the school."
