THE weekend saw young riders in the Little Leagues in action at Friars Hill Riding Stables in Sinnington.
As part of this league, the children have a series of six competitions which involve doing something different each week, for example show jumping, ‘handy pony’, pole-to-pole and barrel racing.
Points are awarded for placings and also at the final competition, the championships, which took place at the weekend.
Tracy at the stables said: “All the emphasis is on a fun learning environment and helps to build confidence, improve riding and team building.
“What a successful time these kids have had, they have been here over the coldest winter months, getting stuck into whatever tasks they were given and accumulating points as they went on. Well done to all of them.”
