THE final of the Horslyx dressage series has been held at Beckside Livery Stables, near Whitby, concluding "the wettest series they have ever run".

The first class of the day was the Intro Senior. Laura Grady pulled her best performance out of the bag riding Rhythmic Times to win the class. She then did even better and scored more than 70 per cent to take the Prelim class as well, beating the eventual points champions in both classes.

The championship in the Intro went to Bevel Hudspith riding her own Harriet, and Vicci Smith, long time points leader, took her well-deserved Prelim championship.

The junior sections went to Carina Hankin riding Toby and she won both points championships, as well having worked very hard to improve her performances from last year.

The final class of the day had a very close finish. Jacqui Shipman has led the points for the last few competitions but Alice Smith, who has been snapping at her heels, pulled out a "near flawless" 72 per cent test and won. This left her and Jacqui joint PYO champions.

Cara Shardlow, from the stables, said: "We have see a very high standard of dressage. A massive thank you to our sponsors Horslyx. We will be running an autumn series so keep an eye out for dates."
