THE third of the winter dressage series took place at Friars Hill Stables, Sinnington, with Holly Hamilton-Smith riding Wizard took the honours in the intro class just ahead of Paula Drury and Indy.

Catherine Fairburn and Costa did a super test in the prelim seven to win the class, along with notching a fourth place in the prelim one. Fiona Hill, a regular at Friars Hill Stables, took second place in the prelim seven, then went one better to win the prelim one class.

Eliz Cook riding her veteran Boss Tweed who came a close second to Fiona Hill in class three, also went one better to just pip regular Jess Thurlow to the post in class four.

The fourth round in the winter dressage series at Friars Hill Stables will take place on Sunday, January 3. Their next competition will be nanny and novice showjumping, which takes place on Tuesday, December 29.

The results were: Class 1 Intro – 1 Holly Hamilton- Smith & Wizard, 2 Paula Drury & Indy, 3 Amy Ring & Jimmy, 4 Paula Appleby & Eclipse, 5 Angela Feaster & Samson.

Class 2 Prelim 7 – 1 Catherine Fairburn & Costa, 2 Fiona Hill & Grey, 3 Lucinda Sanderson & Bruce, 4 Tara Steendijk & Koning, =5 Fiona Hardman & Blaze and Lizzie Ball & Amelie.

Class 3 Prelim 1 – 1 Fiona Hill & Grey, 2 Eliz Cook & Boss Tweed, 3 Fiona Hardman & Blaze, 4 Catherine Fairburn & Blaze, 5 Deb Boyes & Charlie, 6 Lucinda Sanderson & Bruce.

Class 4 Novice 24 – 1 Eliz Cook & Boss Tweed, 2 Jess Thurlow & Murphy.
