THE finale of Beckside livery stables summer dressage championships still went ahead last weekend despite the torrential rain.

Competitors turned out in force for this annual event, which has become an annual event in the yearly calendar, with lots of prizes, kindly sponsored by Horslyx, who sponsor Becksides owner, Cara Shardlow in her British Dressage competing.

Tessa Nelson and her mare, Greenforth Lily, took a comfortable win with more than 75 per cent in the intro class, along with a fourth place in the prelim section. Carina Hankin and Toby just narrowly beat Abi Parkes with less than one per cent in hand to win the intro junior section.

Tracy Squire and Fion were another pair on fine form to win the prelim section along with a second in the intro to Tess Nelson. Briege Robertson took a narrow lead to win the under-16 class from Ellie Craven, again with less than one per cent between the two.

Katherine Rayment and Zak are keeping up their form in the pick-your-own test, to win riding a novice test and then a fourth riding an elementary.
