THE Sinnington hunt branch of the pony club games team have been busy since January this year putting in lots of practise for the gymkhana relay games in readiness for the Yorkshire area, which they managed to win qualifying them for one of the zone final which are held throughout the British isles.
The young team consisted of Lottie Coombe, Alex Cordingley, Lily Baum, Ruby Thompson and Jack Collier, the eldest being Lottie, aged 11.
The team travelled down to Warwickshire for the zone finals, under the watchful eye of their trainer, Nicki Otterburn, to have a fantastic win yet again, this time giving the team the qualification for the pony club national games championships which takes place at Cholmondley Castle, Cheshire in August.
All the team have been members of the Sinnington Pony Club branch since the age of around four or five and have progressed through ranks to make them the winning team they are today.
The Sinnington's district commissioner, Romy Cordingley said: “The children have worked so hard with their training, they totally deserved to qualify and we are so proud of them.”
