MALTON Show, as per usual, had its good turn-out of entries from local competitors with many of them following on into the showjumping from the earlier showing classes and working hunter classes.

Ruby Thompson set the pace in the 55cm class with a clear in the first round on both her ponies, Crispin and Jaffa to take first and second respectively.

Amy Hayhurst riding Daisy notched up two first places in the 65 and 75cms along with a second in the 85cms. Amy, who is deputising for Courtney Barker, who is injured with a broken arm after a fall from Daisy last week, was thrilled with the outcome of the day’s showjumping.

Ellie Wilson and her mount, Jet Set just managed to fend off her rivals in the 85cms with a fast clear in the jump off to complete the final class of the day in the fading daylight.

The results were: 55cm – 1 Ruby Thompson & Crispin, 2 Ruby Thompson & Jaffa, 3 Freya Woods & Lucy, 4 Emily Grayson & Rosie.

65cm – 1 Amy Hayhurst & Daisy, 2 Tia Woods & Marny, 3 Stephanie Else & Bovril, 4 – Ruby Thompson & Crispin, 5 Henry Baker & Percy, 6 Ruby Thompson & Jaffa.
