THE Northern group for British Dressage is holding a charity Northern Dressage Extravaganza at Askham Bryan College on Saturday, May 2.

The panel will be donating their time for free and all proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The extravaganza will be run in two sessions, with both sessions covering different topics; the afternoon session is from 1.30pm to 5.30pm and the evening session from 7pm to 10.30pm.

The panel taking part in the extravaganza are leading international riders Becky and Hannah Moody, Jo Graham, international four-star judge, and Peter Schofield, an international orthopaedic clinician. Topics covered will be young horses, point of view from the judge, rider and vet, injury prevention, working to maximise the potential of the horse, common rider problems and how to overcome them, judges’ priorities compared with rider/trainer priorities, and dressage to music.

Becky Moody has just returned from competing at Hartpury College where she was crowned the national winner of the Magic Prix St George music freestyle with a score of 77.29 per cent riding the stunning Carinsio.

She then took second place in the same class on Tirsa, along with a superb win in the Superflex intermediate I freestyle riding The Painted Black. Becky will be one of the demo riders along with Jessica Dunn, who will be riding in front of judge Jo Graham.

The event promises to be educational and entertaining, with the added bonus of watching the riders and their horses being put through their paces from every aspect of dressage.

Food and drink are available to those wishing to attend both sessions.

Tickets are available in advance only from blog.moody-dressage.co.uk
