ROWAN Haywood, from Hunmanby, near Scarborough, had a successful day at Port Royals dressage competition with both her youngsters having their debut into the competition arena.

Vinnie and Bea were purchased by Rowan as three year olds last year with the potential to event in British Eventing four-year-old classes.

Rowan, who along with her busy eventing calendar, also rides for Scarborough Riding Club, regularly putting in appearances at qualifiers and championships for them.

She said of the two horses: “They were so well behaved with their second test and have been much more settled. I couldn’t have asked for anymore.”
