YORK and District riding club dressage competitions are proving to be a hit at the indoor venue of Thornton Lodge House near Pocklington, where competitions have been over-subscribed.

The intro A placings all had less than four per cent between the top six, with Alex Hughes on the Indie, who topped the leaderboard by one per cent from Dave Brackpool riding Coda.

Vicky Parkinson and her mount, Boots, took the top two spots in two classes, the first being in the prelim where she beat Kate Jennings on Johnny and in the novice class by a good margin.

But Kate was determined to not to be beaten again, and took home the honours by two per cent in her second class of the day, the pick-a-test class three, leaving her very pleased with her day’s outing.

York and District’s next dressage competition at Thornton Lodge House on Sunday, March 8, but is currently full.

But organiser, Sue Beckington said: “There is a waiting list, but we will do our best to try and accommodate the entries”.
