FRIARS Hill stables ran an unusual competition last weekend which proved to be a hit with competitors.
The event is called shoot and show jump and competitors had 10 shots at a target followed by a round of showjumping.
The 75cm and 85cm classes were won by Daniel Ingham, who is a sixth former at Malton School, riding the ever consistent Blaze. Daniel proved to be a crack shot at the shooting section giving the pair a good lead going into the showjumping phase where they managed perfectly timed clear rounds.
Due to the popularity of this event, Friars Hill Stables are hoping to run another in the spring time.
The results were:
55cms – 1 Sophie Knowles & Jimmy, 2 Georgia White & Lolly, 3 Sandra Thurlow & Lulu, 4 Charlotte Beal & Me Me, 5 Becky Marshall & Daisy, 6 Rachel Robson & George.
75cms – 1 Dan Ingham & Blaze, 2 Rebecca Champion & Grey, 3 Fiona Hardman & Buster, 4 Courtney Barker & Tigger, 5 Holly Shepherdson & Dancer, 6 Tahlia Higgs & Comet.
85cms – 1 Dan Ingham & Blaze, 2 Tahlia Higgs & Comet, 3 Rebecca Champion & Grey, 4 Fiona Hardman & Buster, 5 Courtney Barker & Tigger.
