LUCY CARVER, 15, from Weaverthorpe and a Norton College pupil, rounded off a good season by jumping double clear in the Junior Show jumper at Horse of the Year Show with Powerstation, her coloured nine year old 148cm pony.

Lucy and Powerstation pulled it out of the bag in the junior showjumper of the year class by jumping a good double clear with the first round standing a 1.35m and the second round even bigger. Powerstation has only just stepped up to this level this year and was placed seventh in this class, so it was a major achievement for the duo.

Powerstation looked very confident at this level after having an unlucky pole down the previous day in the foxhunter final.

Due to this solid performance Lucy and Powerstation were then selected to represent England at the recent English Home Pony International show at Southview, Cheshire, where England finished in gold medal position.

Lucy also gained several good placings at this show with her ride on the eight-year-old Carnalecka Quickstep and her novice stallion TGF Sinatra, who is an exciting prospect for 2015, along with TGF Arragorn and Valverdi.

All Lucy’s ponies are now enjoying a well deserved break from the showjumping circuit, but are still managing to be regular participants with the Derwent Hunt as Lucy thinks is important to have a variety to keep them refreshed and having fun.
