YORK and District Riding Club kicked off the first of their indoor winter dressage at Thornton House Farm, near Pocklington.

Sarah Jackson Bargh competed was feeling gratified to even be able to compete with her horse, Sam, after he had suffered a bout of colic ten days previously, and earned was over the moon to have an equal second and fourth in the intro and prelim respectively.

A two minute’s silence was held at 11am to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

Then it was back in action for Natalie Hardstaff and her mount Robin IV returned after having a long rest due to a suspensory injury. Natalie and was over the moon to be back on top form with Robin took taking home two first places in the novice 27 and the pick a test.

The results were: Intro – 1 Dave Brackpool & Coda , = 2 Fiona Raitt & Toby and Sarah Jackson Bargh & Sam, 4 Christine Johnson & Raphael, 5 Barbara Boston & Russian Gold , 6 James Crosbie & Fragil Rock.

Prelim 4 – 1 Vicky Parkinson & Boots, 2 Kate Jennings & Johnny, 3 Jackie Snow & Min, =4 Sarah Jackson Bargh & Sam and Emma Mennell & Prim, 6 Laura Barker & Mightavago.

Novice 27 – 1 Natalie Hardstaff & Robin IV, 2 Vicky Parkinson & Boots, 3 Emma Mennell & Prim, 4 Sue Hardman & Caspar, 5 Jackie Snow & Min, 6 Pam Holroyd & Fragil Rock.

Pick a test – 1 Natalie Hardstaff & Robin IV, 2 Sue Hardman & Caspar, 3 Jane Tooms & Starlight, 4 Kate Jennings & Johnny.
