THE Middleton Pony Club were the hosts for the Dengie preliminary qualifiers for the pony clubs in area 3, at Bishop Burton College last weekend.

The first rounds running from October through to February are to qualify pass to for the area qualifiers in March and then for the area qualifiers in March through to the finals in April.

The first four placings will qualify for the area rounds, of which the venues have yet to be announced.

Twelve-year-old Charlotte Blenkin, from Appleton-le-Street, riding her own Hillside Monet for Malton School won went home with a smile after winning the open 75cms and a third place in the 90cms qualifier.

Lois Teal and Robyn Welford also have qualifying places with a first and second respectively, with Lois just being slightly faster against the clock to beat Robyn for Norton College.

Junior series final 60cms, 10 years & under – 1 Sinnington Smilers, 2 Derwent Hunt, 3 Sinnington Stars, 4 Bramham Games Girls, 5 Holderness.

Individual series final 60cms – 1 Georgina Elliot, 2 Oliva Clough, 3 Ellie McNeil, 4 Ruby Thompson, 5 Holly Shepherdson, 6 Lottie Coomb.

65cms open – 1 Tilly East, 2 Javi Rochelle, 3 Izzy Gregory, 4 Daisy Curry, 5 Sophie Sadler, 6 Courtney Barker.

70cms final 12 years & under – 1 Badsworth Rockers, 2 York & Ainsty South, 3 Bedale, 4 Vale of York, 5 Sinnington Sparks, 6 Sinnington Sparklers.
