YORK and District Riding Club kicked off its winter dressage series at tits Wigginton venue, with some stunning tests from the competitors.

Susie Wildey, having her first outing on her new horse, Nancy, was over the moon to win the introduction on their first attempt.

Vicky Parkinson on her immaculately turned-out mount, Boots, finished top of the leaderboard in the prelim 18 with a cracking score of 76.67 per cent giving her something to smile about.

Hats off must go to Haxby rider Becky Blyton and On A Whim II, who are steadily getting back into the competition circuit after On A Whim had a year off to recover from injury, having been placed at Port Royal and Malton riding club dressage competitions recently. The pair pulled off a double win with more than 70 per cent in both tests here.

The pair will now head out and start competing at some show jumping competitions in preparation for the spring season on the British Eventing circuit.
