AMOTHERBY showing rider Zoe Hume is looking ahead to the week of October 10 where she will contest for the title of Intermediate show hunter type at the Horse of the Year Show on State Policy, her stunning 15.2 bay gelding, who is now 16 years old.

The pair won the qualifier at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, in Buckinghamshire, a couple of weeks ago from a very strong class of 21 combinations in the British Show Horse Association national championships.

Having only acquired State Policy in April this year, the pair have been consistently in the ribbons.

Zoe is no stranger to the Horse of the Year Show having been there several times in the past on her ponies in her younger days, the last time being in 2012 where she managed a creditable fifth with Goliaths Boy in the Retraining of Racehorses class (ROR), but it will be Zoe’s first time in the international arena.

Zoe said: “I am really looking forward to riding in the international arena and State Policy is in peak condition and fitness, so he is as ready as he will ever be.”
