PORT Royal held an unaffiliated dressage and an affiliated team quest last Sunday with a larger than usual turn out of competitors.

The prelim four class had a large number of entries with Joanna Maffin and Vital Chance taking home the honours. The prelim four juniors saw Amy Small and Wellbrow Dewdrop do their usual sparkling test to win with a five per cent lead.

The affiliated section of the British Dressage team quest where there are four members of a team and the top three scores count with three sections, open, 25 years and under, along with a 16 years and under sections. The open team consisting of Jess Johnson, riding Mr Boyze, Erin Chan, riding Iceford Toffee, Amy Small, riding Triumph, and Nicky Lyons, riding Tiger Bay Basil, made their debut as a team riding in the open section to win the leader board by seven points.

The under 25, with only a team of three, went to Jack Wainwright, Ben Wainwright and Olivia Whitelaw. The under 16 went to Oliver Bates, Megan Wilson, Kate Hinchley and Lydia Hanley.

Novice 28 – 1 Paul Janaway & Sockburn Nashville, 2 Caroline Grundy & Santa, 3 Georgina Blades & Looks Similar.
