Megan Pollit, Shauna Fox and Tyler Smith have been selected as winners of this year’s Fulmart Feeds sponsored Grooms’ Academy at Askham Bryan College.

The three winners were selected from a larger group of students who spent a year competing in the college’s equestrian department's Grooms Academy, which runs alongside core equestrian courses and is designed to recognise the college’s top equestrian pupils.

In past years only one student has been selected, but this year the three finalists worked particularly hard and so it was decided to reward all three.

Kay Lamb, equestrian facilities director at Askham Bryan College said: “We usually select one student from the Academy but all three finalists worked particularly hard and we felt all of them are worthy winners. We are delighted that our Academy sponsors, Fulmart Feeds, are happy to reward the three of them."

Nineteen-year-old Megan, from Ackworth, has another year to complete at Askham Bryan College and hopes that she will go on to Higher Education to study Equine Science. Shauna Pollit, 18, from Castleford, and also in her first year at the college has ambitions to qualify as a riding instructor and run a livery yard. Tyler Smith aspires to work for a professional rider as a groom.

Megan and Shauna are seen receiving their prizes; branded clothing, feed and merchandise from Kate Betteridge of Fulmart Feeds.
