THE Shipley sisters, Roxanne and Bethany, from Sheriff Hutton, are riding on the crest of the wave.
The sisters and their mounts, Headmore Dream On and Wanour S, travelled down to Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire, for the High Profile dressage competition weekend extravaganza.
It was the first time Headmore Dream On has competed at such a major competition but with Roxanne having done plenty of preparation in the run-up for this competition the pair excelled themselves.
Riding in the advanced medium test, the pair maintained their lead to win their section and take a fourth place overall on both days.
Younger sister Bethany, riding Wanour S in the junior section, was not going to be outdone by big sister Roxanne, who managed to gain seventh place on Saturday, which she was a little disappointed with, but which made her all the more determined for the test the following day where the pair finished top of the leader board in first place, putting a huge smile on Bethany’s face.
The next outing for the pair will be at the winter regionals to be held at Bishop Burton College in the second week of February.
