Kirkbymoorside
The annual meeting, held on March 29, reinstated James Dowkes and Sally Turnbull as chairman and secretary. Robert Scaling replaced Stephen Eddon as treasurer. Thanks go to Stephen for the service he has given the club.
On April 5, members participated in beef judging at White Thorn Farm, Marton, by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Turnbull. The master judge was Mark Bulmer and the results were: Junior: 1st Ben Turnbull, 2nd Alice Turnbull, 3rd Sally Stephenson. Senior: 1st Caroline Dixon, 2nd Lucy Rutter, 3rd James Dowkes. Robert Scaling gave the vote of thanks.
Kirkbymoorside YFC always welcomes new members aged 10-26 who are interested in the countryside and agriculture. Call Sally Turnbull for more info on (01751) 432523.
Rillington
On March 21, about 20 young farmers visited Snaiton golfing range. All who attended had an enjoyable evening. There were many golf balls going astray. Young farmers visited Pot Doodles in Thornton-le-Dale and participated in an evening of pot painting. Members are now awaiting the finished results.
