Seasons goes to be beside the sea

A food shop which has been tickling taste buds in Ryedale is branching out to Scarborough.

Seasons has been open for four years in Pickering, and now managing director Sarah Pelper is teaming up with new marketing director Helen Patrick to take over Scarborough's old Tourist Information Centre in Valley Bridge Road for a new Seasons.

"Due to Sarah's vision and drive, we have already had four years of very successful trading with Seasons in Pickering, so we are delighted to be opening a new branch in such a prime location in Scarborough," Helen said.

"We want to make food shopping at Seasons a unique and enjoyable experience.

''There will be ideas for dishes using seasonal ingredients and a monthly recipe card full of tips for delicious supper dishes and snacks. There will be plenty of suggestions, too, about the choice of accompanying wines from our innovative selection."

The company, which has its central distribution headquarters at Farfield Business Park, Wykeham, will create 13 new jobs with the move, with opportunities for further growth.

"With its close proximity to the railway station and the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Seasons will be very much part of the main hub for visitors and tourists," said Helen, who has worked as a chef, restaurateur and wine buyer.

"Situated on one of the main routes into the town centre and giving a much needed 'facelift' to a building that has been empty for some time, Seasons is now in a strong position to help set the tone for the rest of Scarborough."

The new shop is opening on Friday, April 7.
