Firm unveils prestige £3m business park plan

A NORTON-based property development company is to launch a 26,000 square foot office and research development in Old Malton which is set to be valued at £3 million plus.

Redworth Construction Ltd has won the contract to carry out the scheme at Manor Farm which they have acquired from the Fitzwilliam estate.

Managing director at Redworth, Howard Rogers, said the development in the conservation area at Old Malton will comprise five state-of-the-art buildings ranging in size from just under 2,750 square feet to nearly 6,000 square feet.

He said: "We have been planning this scheme for a long time and a great deal of thought and consultation has gone into providing a facility that we believe will appeal to a wide range of traditional and research-based organisations."

He added: "One of the most important features will be the spacious feel of the development with an emphasis on landscaping. We are very conscious that the buildings should blend sympathetically with the surroundings."

Redworth has appointed McBeath Property Consultancy (MPC) which has offices in Malton and York, to handle the marketing.

Andrew McBeath of MPC said: "It will be a quality business environment that will provide a real alternative to York and Leeds, particularly as the prices and rents are far more competitive."

He added that the marketing team is confident of attracting traditional office occupiers, and is to develop links with York Science City and the University of York, both of which are established centres for Bio-Science and Technology-based businesses.

Mr McBeath said it would be ideal for professional companies and high-tech uses and would create significant employment opportunities.
