Expansion marks company's anniversary

A COMPANY which supports independent living is celebrating its fifth anniversary by branching out into the York area.

First launched in January 2001, Scarborough-based Independent Home Living opened an office in Beverley in September 2004 and expanded into East Yorkshire.

With more than 50 employees, it is now expanding with a new base at the Nuffield Hospital, York.

Ann Wyatt, who is a co-director, said: "We help clients and their families relieve the stresses and strains of growing old by helping them to maintain maximum independence in their own homes.

"We are delighted to be able to offer residents in the York area the help we currently offer in the Scarborough area and East Yorkshire."

Services include personal care such as bathing, dressing and hairdressing as well as help with home and garden maintenance, cooking, laundry and shopping.

The support also includes acute services for those of all ages who may have a sensory or physical disability, or are perhaps recovering from a major injury.
